A historic climate change rally was held by
Bangladeshis on Friday, September 18, 2009,
at the United Nations headquarters in New York. It was organized by Bangladesh Environment Network (BEN), the global network of non-resident Bangladehis. The rally was held to draw attention to the grave threat that climate change poses to Bangladesh and to demand urgent measures to halt the climate change process.
Voice for
Justice NY also participated in this historic event with a good number of
participants, including Dr. Abdul Momen, Permanent Representative of Bangladesh
to the United Nations and Mr. Luthfur Rahman Chowdhury.
They are also the
Voice for Justice conveners of
Boston chapter and Bangladesh chapter, respectively. |
